Voice of Taxi Drivers (VOTD) represents taxi drivers’ concerns across Ireland. We advocate for fair regulation, transparency, proper enforcement of taxi laws, and the protection of drivers’ rights.
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect the rights and livelihoods of taxi drivers across Ireland. We are committed to promoting fair regulation, transparency, accountability, and the proper enforcement of taxi laws. We believe every driver deserves fair treatment, a strong voice, and a regulated taxi industry that works for both drivers and passengers.
Our Key Objectives
- Advocate for fair treatment, equal opportunities, and the protection of taxi drivers’ rights across Ireland.
- Ensure Fair Regulation & Enforcement: Promote transparent, consistent, and fair enforcement of taxi regulations by the National Transport Authority (NTA), ensuring that all operators and drivers comply with Irish taxi laws.
- Promote Transparency & Accountability: Demand greater transparency and accountability from the National Transport Authority (NTA) and all taxi dispatch operators, ensuring that decisions affecting taxi drivers are fair, lawful, and properly justified.
- Protect the Regulated Meter-Based Fare System: Support and defend Ireland’s regulated taxi meter system, promote fair and transparent pricing, and ensure that all fare arrangements comply with Irish taxi legislation.
- Strengthen Driver Unity & Representation: Unite taxi drivers across Ireland, regardless of nationality or background, to build a strong collective voice. Ensure drivers’ concerns are heard and represented in discussions with regulators, government departments, and industry stakeholders.
- Protect Drivers’ Income & Livelihoods: Advocate for fair earnings, sustainable working conditions, and reasonable operating costs for taxi drivers across Ireland. Challenge unfair practices that threaten drivers’ financial stability and long-term livelihoods.
